Mary and the Park

Mary loves the park that is in our subdivision. Here are a few photos of us taking advantage of the Texas weather one of our first days here. Please notice the tutu...she's very proud of it--a nice hand-me-down from cousin Amzie. Notice the crusty nose in the bottom picture...Mary and I have some Texas allergies, and Zyrtec takes a few days to work its way through the system.

Our New Addition...

No, we didn't have the baby yet. Upon our arrival in Texas, we were greeted by the most interesting and surprising house warming gift. When Auntie Amy was helping us unpack, we heard what we thought was a mouse, but out from behind some boxes peeked a hamster. Amy was able to catch him with the aid of a carrot. Gene and I aren't the type of people to turn away a stray, so off to Petco we went. He or she (who can tell) is now a Kanak. Gene named him Boo Radley, and he is currently residing in our new home. Mary enjoys talking to him, and thinks he's "so silly." Our dog Sammy also likes our new pet, but we question her motivation at times.

We are finally all together again! With the help of my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary, Sammy (our dog), and I made it here safe and sound. Even though it tore my heart out to leave my family and Herscher High School behind, Mary and I missed Geno terribly. I'll update pictures soon, so everyone can see our new home. Stay tuned...

Love,

Angie

Heading Back to Illinois

Mary and I have really enjoyed our stay in Texas, and are looking forward to the move--though leaving all our families will be bitter-sweet. We are very sad to be leaving Gene behind in Texas, but I must return to Herscher and get Mary back into her routine. Gene and I have made some major headway in the potty training department! I'm hoping to continue all the work we've done at home. The picture above is of Mary's and Daddy's favorite hide-n-seek spot in the new house.

Lazy Christmas Day

Mary certainly enjoyed Christmas this time around. She was thrilled with all of the presents Santa brought her, but she is particularly fond of her new Barbie guitar and her Handy Manny tool set. She is rarely found without one or the other. Aside from present time, the day has been very fun and relaxing. Marry and daddy took a walk around the neighborhood while mommy rested. The weather was very nice here today, approaching 70 degrees. We miss everybody back home, but, all in all, it's been a very special Christmas here in our new home.

Hello from Texas

Gene and I wanted to start this blog, so all of our family and friends can keep tabs on our family as we make plans to move to Texas. Mary and I are visiting Gene in our new home in Arlington. Though it's not super warm here, it's definitely warmer than Illinois, where have read is about 7 below. It's a breezy 40 degrees here. Throughout the next few weeks, we plan to customize this blog with pictures and witty anecdotes, so please stay tuned.

Love,

Angie
